What is a Kundali or birth chart?

What is Ayanamsa and why does it matter?
Ayanamsa is the angle between the fixed sidereal zodiac used in Vedic astrology and the moving tropical zodiac used in Western astrology. Choosing a different ayanamsa shifts every planetary position, and therefore the sign placements shown in your chart.
What's the difference between the D1 and D9 charts?
The D1, or Lagna chart, shows the actual planetary positions at birth and is the primary chart. The D9, or Navamsha chart, subdivides each sign into nine parts and is traditionally used to examine marriage, inner strength and the finer promise of the D1 chart.
